just another game

we are in a virtual reality
where your the game and im the player
but the game you see is rigged;
i press X to jump and instead i stand in place
i try to jump over the fire and dodge the flames
but the game wont let me; it controls me
but your not a one player game;
multiple players; one never knowing about the others
you control them just like you control me
but i cant stop playing;
im addicted and you can tell
no ones going to save me
im in too deep
everyone sees me going under
im becoming consumed by your game
people tell me i need help
my friends tell me to put you down and walk away
i know your not good for me
i know about those other player
and it hurts worse than ever
but im hoping to get the high score
and win you over
have you to myself
people say it's never going to happen
but im going to keep on trying
im only one level away
im about to get that high score
the game shuts off;
you have decided you are tired of me
you wont give me a second chance
i have no choice but let you go
you just threw me away
yet i was the most dedicated player
staying up all night
never using cheat codes;
like the girl you chose
i guess you got what you deserved
